The Fort Wayne Derby Girls Presents Summer Shovin’ Bringin’ Back Roller Derby!

The Fort Wayne Derby Girls Presents Summer Shovin’, Bringin’ Back Roller Derby on Saturday, July 15th at Roller Dome South located off of Bluffton Road. Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $12.00 day of the bout. The doors open at 7:00p.m. with the bout between teams Good vs. Evil beginning at 8:00p.m. An after party with the skaters will follow the bout at Buckets Sports Bar off of Jefferson Blvd.

Attendees of the Summer Shovin’, Bringin’ Back Roller Derby will enjoy a high energy aggressive evening of a point based sport that consist of “Jammers” trying to pass skaters from the opposing team placed in “Packs” to score points with in 3 / 20 minute periods. The team with the most points at the end of the 3 / 20 minute periods wins.

The Fort Wayne Derby Girls had their first exhibition bout, Apocalype Pow! on Saturday, May 20th, 2006 at Roller Dome South. With the sell-out crowd exceeding 1,000 ppl in attendance, Summer Shovin’ will include the addition of bleachers for optimum viewing of the track.

The Fort Wayne Derby Girls, a non-profit organization, raised over $2,000.00 for Charis House, the women and children's division of Fort Wayne Rescue Ministries with the proceeds of Apocalypse Pow! in May. FWDGs Summer Shovin’s benefiting charity is SCAN, Stop Child Abuse and Neglect. Noting this league’s mission, since March, the all female roller derby league has given in excess of $4,000 to Fort Wayne women and children centric charities.
